Family Support with Zoom

If you are a family member, friend or significant other of an individual living with a mental health condition, please join us for our On-Line version of the NAMI Family Support Group!

During the COVID-19 Situation, Family Support Group is being offered by Zoom three times weekly.  Family Support Group is  support group for individuals 18 years and older who are family members/caregivers, or care about a loved one who is living with a mental health condition. NAMI Family Support Group is a place that offers respect, understanding, encouragement and hope. NAMI Albuquerque is currently conducting meetings via ZOOM multiple times per week, including a Spanish version. NAMI Albuquerque normally conducts our free support groups in-person, but due to  the COVID-19, our facilitators have have to adapt!  We are now offering the Family Support Group via the Zoom Online program.  

Family Support Group Meetings are currently being conducted in English on Zoom on Tuesday Nights from 6-7:30PM and Wednesday Mornings from 10-11:30AM. In addition, we are offering a Spanish version currently on the second and fourth Thursdays each month from 6-7:30PM.  We may be adding additional days and times in the very near future as demand grows (WATCH THIS SPACE). Through this grant, NAMI New Mexico, in conjunction with NAMI Albuquerque, aims to increase behavioral health education and support programs to individuals living with a  mental health condition and their families within Bernallilo County.

Connection with Zoom

If you are an individual 18 or older living with a mental health condition, please join us for our On-Line version of the NAMI Connection Support Group!

NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group is a free, peer-led support group for any adult who has experienced symptoms of a mental health condition. You will gain insight from hearing the challenges and successes of others, and the groups are led by trained leaders who’ve been there.

NAMI Albuquerque normally conducts our free support groups in-person, but due to  the COVID-19, our facilitators have have to adapt!  We are now offering the Connection Support Group via the Zoom Online program.  

We will be conducting the Connection Support Groups via Zoom on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (except for the 3rd Wednesday of each month)

Connection Meetings are currently being conducted on Zoom on Mondays, Wednesdays (except the third Weds of the month), and Fridays starting at 6:30PM.  The Zoom will start a half hour early (6PM) on Monday and Friday to allow for additional tech support for those who made need help getting connected.  For more information, or to register, Please Click the button below.

Family to Family

Registration for NAMI’s FREE Family to Family Education Course is now open.    Slots are filled on a first-come first-served basis.

Family-to-Family is a free 8-week class for families, partners and friends of individuals with mental illness. The course is designed to facilitate a better understanding of mental illness, increase coping skills and empower participants to become advocates for their family members. 

NAMI Family-to-Family is a designated evidenced-based program by SAMHSA. This means that research shows that the program significantly improves the coping and problem-solving abilities of the people closest to a person with a mental health condition.

NAMI Family-to-Family is taught by NAMI-trained family members who have been there, and includes presentations, discussions and interactive exercises.  

Start Date:  Summer 2020, exact dates TBD, but taking registrations now.
