NAMI Programs

Across New Mexico, trained NAMI volunteers bring volunteer-led programs to families and peers. With the unique understanding of people with lived experience, these programs and support groups provide outstanding free education, skills training and support.  The programs offered currently by NAMI Albuquerque are listed below.  The availability of programs may vary depending on availability of program teachers and facilitators.

NAMI Family-to-Family

Family-to-Family is a 12-week class for families, partners and friends of individuals with mental illness. The course is designed to facilitate a better understanding of mental illness, increase coping skills and empower participants to become advocates for their family members. This program was designated as an evidence-based program by SAMHSA.  (More)

NAMI Peer-to-Peer

NAMI Peer-to-Peer — A recovery education course open to anyone experiencing a mental health challenge. The course is designed to encourage growth, healing and recovery among participants. NAMI Albuquerque is working on developing our program, contact us for information. (More)


Family Support Group

Family Support Group is a weekly support group for individuals 18 years and older who are family members/caregivers or care about a loved one, who is living with a mental illness.  NAMI Family Support Group is a place that offers respect, understanding, encouragement and hope. (More)

NAMI Connection

Connection A weekly recovery support group for individuals 18 and older living with mental illness where individuals learn from each other’s experiences, share coping strategies, and offer encouragement and understanding. You do not have to pre-register for the Connection meetings – simply show up at the day, time and location shown below. (More)

W.R.A.P. – Wellness Recovery Action Plan

In Our Own Voice

In Our Own Voice  – A unique public education program developed by NAMI, in which two trained consumer speakers share compelling personal stories about living with mental illness and achieving recovery. Your group can request an In Our Own Voice presentation. (More)
